The Belize Wildlife & Referral Clinic cares for injured, orphaned or imperiled wildlife, encourages humane treatment of animals and teaches humans how to avoid conflict with wildlife

The MISSION of the Belize Wildlife Referral Clinic (BWRC) is to support wildlife conservation, animal welfare and the veterinary profession in Belize with veterinary care, rehabilitation, research and environmental outreach.

Why is it important?

Through medical, educational, research and human-wildlife related activities, the BWRC has established and manages a state of the art veterinary clinic for wildlife and domestic referral patients, provides educational opportunities and training for students, professionals and interested individuals, and supports the Belize Forest Department in carrying out its mandate in wildlife management by providing care and advice for injured, ill and captive wildlife. Its overarching aim is to continue to support conservation with the clinic, in the field and through education and conservation.

How do they do it?

The BWRC provides veterinary care and rehabilitation to injured, orphaned or imperiled wildlife with the goal to return them back to the wild, all while supporting conservation and sustainability.
