The MISSION Venice Family Clinic is to provide quality primary health care to people in need.

Why is it important?

Many low-income families and disadvantaged individuals cannot afford health care, often lacking the insurance necessary to maintain basic overall wellness. Twenty percent of uninsured adults simply went without medical care in 2015, despite it being crucial to them, due to cost. 

How do they do it?

Serving the Venice Beach neighborhood in West Los Angeles, the Clinic provides the combined services of primary care, specialty care, dental, and health education. This includes diagnosis, treatment, medications, follow-up, and laboratory tests as well. Doors are open to anyone, but a special emphasis is placed in particular on the needs of women, children, the homeless, and people suffering from chronic disease. Ninety-seven percent of the clinic’s 24,000 patients fall into the low-income bracket, and nearly seventy-five percent are uninsured.
