Take Care Tahoe is a collective group of more than 50 organizations that are building a culture of caretaking and stewardship in the Lake Tahoe region.

The MISSION - Take Care Tahoe believes that Lake Tahoe is an environmental success story and a global role model for sustainability. Take Care inspires more people to care for the Lake Tahoe environment by building a culture of stewardship.

Why is it important?

Everyone has a role to play in taking care of Tahoe. That’s why more than 50 partners throughout the Lake Tahoe region collaborate on the Take Care Tahoe campaign. Whether it's picking up trash or ditching plastic water bottles to drink Tahoe tap, Take Care inspires individual acts of stewardship – both big and small.

How do they do it?

Keep an eye out for Take Care’s messages around Lake Tahoe that poke fun at the mistakes we all make when the beauty of Tahoe takes our breath away. These fun illustrations and lighthearted sentiments can be seen on trash cans, signs, and billboards throughout the region, helping to build a culture of caretaking for Tahoe’s environment.

Whether you’re interested in Earth Day festivals, beach cleanups, or nature walks, Take Care has got you covered. All the information is in one easy-to-use place at takecaretahoe.org, including the latest on environmental events and volunteer opportunities around the lake.
