As a global, environmental, grassroots nonprofit organization, the MISSION of Surfrider Foundation Miami is to protect our world’s oceans, beaches and waves for everyone to enjoy.
Why is it important?
Our ocean faces growing challenges from pollution, offshore development, and climate change. These challenges pose a threat to the availability of clean water and beaches and the preservation of animal habitats.
How do they do it?
Powered by a powerful activist network, the Miami chapter focuses on reducing the negative impacts of single-use plastics, managing water quality at local beaches, dune restoration, and educational outreach at local K-12 schools.
