Providing youth holistic development needs to the increasingly diverse Twin Cities Area
The MISSION of The Sanneh Foundation is to empower youth by supporting and promoting educational attainment through in-school and after-school support, by providing programs that strengthen physical health, social and emotional development, and unite communities by advancing diversity, equity, and community well-being.
Why is it important?
In “at-risk” neighborhoods it's very important for children to have an outlet and an opportunity to receive additional help in academics. The Sanneh Foundation provides the resources for these children to develop emotionally and socially, as well as academically, providing them with greater opportunities later in life. By providing these resources, a greater sense of community well-being is established.
How do they do it?
Offering 85 hours of community programming each week, 33,000 free nutritious meals, 85 free community camps, 7,500 campers, and 30,000 hours of academic intervention, The Sanneh Foundation leverages its huge volunteer base to keep programs like these going strong. Due to the success and demand for their programs, TSF is growing at an exponential pace - from an operating budget of $60,000 in 2011 to $3.5 million in 2016, and changing countless lives in the process.
