ABOUT
The Setting
A hip and homey Los Cabos hideaway that redefines luxury by merging sustainability, creativity, diversity, and artistry all into one gorgeous affair with its own beach club? Sold! We mean it when we say this relaxing beaut’ is one of a Kind – particularly, for its heart for art – you’re a stone’s throw from Los Cabos’ famed Arts District, to boot. El Ganzo’s Artists in Residence Program entails visiting creatives – of both the musical and visual variety – being hosted at the hotel, in exchange for their leaving a bit of mastery behind (and community mentorship).
This therefore entails a constant evolution of art displays on property, as well as live musical performances whenever musicians stop in. Even the painting-like setting alone could be considered artwork in itself. Protected by the base of Puerto Los Cabos Marina and set against the backdrop of the Sea of Cortez, the property boasts summery, sunshine-y weather 340 days a year, paired with temperate, azul waters that only the Baja can bring. The icing on the cake, however, is the fact El Ganzo is Mexico’s first Certified B Corporation hotel. “Certified B Corps are businesses that meet the highest standards of verified social and environmental responsibility, public transparency, and legal responsibility to achieve a long-term balance of profits and purpose.” That’s a big deal, folks.
Sleep and Sanctuary
The 69 bodacious guest rooms are full-fledged sanctuaries graced with casual beach vibes. We say guestrooms, but these in essence are suites, from standard ocean view, Penthouse & Honeymoon suites and one and two-bedrooms behemoths. Sliding glass doors open to private terraces which welcome Sea of Cortez views and natural light to every room. Furnishings are custom created (using local materials, and by local artisans) and ultra-comfy beds are all prepped for you to snooze.
Further amenities include well-stocked minibars, as well as tech perks like comped Wi-Fi and even iPads for accessing the hotel’s directory. Each bathroom includes a shower/bath combo and two sinks, plus full-size organic bath products made by El Ganzo’s own brand. The “go green” goal continues with a Don’t Wash My Towel Program, augmenting property features like recycling and on-site composting, eco-friendly cleaning products, and a solar energy program giving this place some serious power.
Eat. Pray. Eat.
The hotel’s dining repertoire is a full-on, farm-fresh fiesta. Savor ingredients sourced from any of three local venues – Huerta Los Tamarindos, a nearby organic farm; the San Jose Farmer’s market; and best of all, the hotel’s very own on-site herb garden (clearly, if sustainability is your thing, you’ve come to the right place). Their profound respect for Mexican ingredients also honors all dietary specifications – vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, and organic – in all three dining concepts as well as in rooms.
