ABOUT

The Setting

Hollywood historians should know Beverly Garland from her prominent career on the small screen. And with the prominent redesign and sustainable upgrades to her namesake hotel (now known simply as, The Garland) that she built in 1972, Kind Travelers should know the name. These upgrades include a more robust solar system, EV stations, manicured outdoor spaces, and a hip new eatery featuring a vegan menu. Already TripAdvisor GreenLeader Silver Certified, The Garland has been ranked one of the “Top 15 Hotels in Los Angeles” by Conde Nast readers.

The hotel is chic, relaxed and centrally located in the San Fernando Valley’s North Hollywood neighborhood (NoHo to locals). Guests here are close to Hollywood landmarks, and popular attractions like Universal Studios, dog-focused hiking trails, Fryman Canyon and Runyon Canyon, all while ensconced within the urban paradise the Garland family created. Unfortunately, Ms. Garland is no longer with us, but the Garland family continuously does their part to make Earth a better place for future generations.

Sleep and Sanctuary

Experience a little Old Hollywood glamour and mid-century whimsy in The Garland’s redesigned 257 rooms and suites. The pet-friendly lodgings range from Deluxe (including Deluxe ADA accessible) guest rooms to a trio of one-bedroom suites named after members of Beverly Garland’s family – The Cathleen, Carrington and Fillmore. All rooms feature a private balcony, complimentary Wi-Fi, Pasadena-based and sustainable Lather bath amenities and in-room entertainment systems. The Garland even caters to those traveling with tykes with a Family Suite and Kid’s Room, as long as you’re cool with letting the little ones enjoy their own bunk bed-laden nook while you sprawl out in peace and quiet (we thought so).

Eat. Pray. Eat.

The Garland brings the essence of the spirited L.A dinner party to The Front Yard. This chic al fresco bistro is a neighborhood gathering place showcasing LA's diverse food culture in a setting as casual and comfortable as your neighbor's house. Feel carefree and dine under the stars with items from the designated vegan menu and local-ish wines. The Lobby Bar is where you mix and mingle. You can spend the day lounging in the lobby where you can sip on delish drinks, or enjoy a delicious cocktail by the pool or in the Courtyard.
