The Art of Elysium, empowers creatives and communities of need to join together and emotionally triumph over their circumstances through art.
Why is it important?
Communities around the world have individuals who are in the midst of difficult challenges, and Los Angeles is no exception. These challenges can include emotional and physical challenges like illness, hospitalization, displacement, and other challenges. Founded in 1997, The Art of Elysium supports such individuals, serving thousands of individuals through artist volunteers. The Art of Elysium was built on the idea that through service, art becomes a catalyst for social change.
How do they do it?
Artists volunteer, The Art of Elysium supports those artists, and communities thrive. The Art of Elysium pairs volunteer artists with individuals in the midst of life's challenges, helping them through art in a variety of forms. All told, The Art of Elysium offers more than 100 different programs, such as art-based self-esteem, fashion and design workshops and art classes, which serve more than 30,000 individuals. Volunteer artists are then eligible for support services, such as artist salons, networking events, showcases and distribution opportunities.
