It was on a transformative journey along a Camino in Spain, that she realized her desire to integrate her skills and experience with her passion for travel, aiming to make a positive impact within the world of travel.
Her path led her to Kind Traveler, where she found the perfect opportunity to help create new relationships with hotels, destinations and charitable organizations.
Amanda lives in Earleville, Maryland near the Chesapeake Bay with her golden retriever/lab mix named Denver and her tuxedo cat, Boots. An avid runner and hiker, she enjoys exploring new trails and discovering pet-friendly accommodations for spontaneous road trips. She loves experiencing new places and meeting new people, while also encouraging others to travel. Life is an adventure and she is thrilled to be on this next adventure with Kind Traveler.
1. What’s your spirit animal?
I would definitely choose a bird because I’d love to be able to fly! Specifically, I’d pick the Arctic tern because it migrates farther than any other bird and spends time in both the Northern and Southern Hemispheres. I’d get to fly around the world without any luggage fees!
2. Your favorite cause and charity and why?
I’m passionate about supporting many charities, but one organization I feel strongly about is The Nature Conservancy. Their dedication to preserving important lands worldwide, not only helps their surrounding environments and wildlife habitats but also makes an impact on their communities. Their mission is so important for protecting our beautiful world for many years to come.
3. Your favorite travel destination that you’ve been to?
This is always a tough question for me because I have special memories from all of my travels! However, when I think back, Gimmelwald, Switzerland stands out the most. The mountains were so spectacular that I felt like I was in another world. There were countless hiking trails and breathtaking vistas, the people were wonderful, and I could envision myself even living there one day! It was truly an incredible place.
4. Where do you dream of traveling to?
I’m really excited about hiking the W Trek in Patagonia and then exploring some other areas of Chile and Argentina. I have heard there are so many amazing places to visit there and I’m hopeful that this dream of mine will become a reality soon!
5. What does it mean to #TravelKindly to you?
I believe it’s about exploring new places around the world while raising awareness for their surrounding environments and communities. It’s about creating friendships with the locals and respecting their cultures and daily lives. It also involves learning about natural habitats and finding ways to leave them better than when we found them. Discovering ways to support these beautiful spots, so they can be enjoyed by us and future generations!
