To strengthen the foundations of our community by offering developmental programs that connect our youth with mentors and leaders, by providing access to facilities which afford our community the opportunity to engage in recreational, sports-related, and community-driven activities in a fun environment, and to foster, nourish, and provide for the safety, health, and welfare of our youth.
Why is it important?
Since August of 2021, DJHCC has made a considerable impact in empowering local youth.
- After-School Program: 312 kids served in its local after-school program, providing over 850 hours of programming and over 13,000 snacks.
- Nature-Based Pre-School: 26 kids served and over 195 hours spent outside.
- Ilwaco Youth Sports: 547 kids participated, 79 pairs of shoes provided, and over 2,000 volunteer hours donated by community coaches.
- Summer Day Camps: 306 kids served and with over 250 kids visiting a local State Park.
